Clarky huge win on the road tonight. What does that mean to you and the lads?
It's it just carries on from where we were at. Carries on from the Warrington performance. Listen, at times like this we're not gonna try and start playing free flowing outstanding football.
I don't think it was a game for the purists. I think we did the right thing. We changed shape at half time, we've got the goal and then defended it brilliantly.
I mean, balls in our box? And we've defended excellently. And with six games to go, it's all about the points.
It was a bit of a scrappy first half, but I felt the start of the second-half until we got the goal we stepped up another level and looked much the better team.
Yeah, listen we go in nil nil and I think it is the standards we set. We weren't happy with how we played.
We're coming with a team who's probably played a different formation.
We've had to change formation at half time. It's not something we want to do, so that's inflicted on us but people have had a go at people.
Got to take responsibility and we have started really well, but even in the first half, we've had two great chances. There's one where Nathan's done a great ball. Bosh put in a ball for Junior.
Junior's not caught it and there's another one. Cross came in Bosh header so we've created 2 great chances in the first half and they only really had one I think in the first half where Nathan's made a good save the 7's cut in.
So in terms of football wise, it wasn't a great game for purist but the things we want: endeavour, work rate, the non-negotiables are outstanding.
After the goal, we saw Belper make a few changes, which seemed to make it a difference for them. They suddenly posed a lot more of a threat. How impressed are you with the way we were? So strong and resilient in resisting the threat that Belper posed.
So yeah. They've got nothing to lose. They're gonna throw things at us. They're the they're playing for the manager, fair play to them. They have picked up two wins on the bounce and we can't just come here and unfold.
But I will say...Adam Wheatley to have him back, is huge. Him and Kev at the back were colossus. Rios coming up right back. He's brilliant. He's going forward, he's passing things on, he's doing the right things to have Rio, Kev and Wheats all in the back three. And then obviously I thought Connor was brilliant one-on-one defending.
I can’t fault the work rate, the endeavour, all the things we ask from them.
