Marske United Football Club are pleased to announce that the former Skelton Ladies Team have now become Marske United Ladies Team after departing from Skelton United to become part of the Marske United family.
Marske United had planned to recruit a Ladies team for next season but when the opportunity to take on board a fully set up team with a full squad, coach, manager, sponsors and funding it was an easy decision for the Marske United Board to make.
Hannah Lindsey, the Ladies Manager offered her immediate thoughts "following our departure from Skelton due to circumstances beyond our control this fresh start means the world to us. The support we've received from the club already has been overwhelming and we are excited to represent Marske United with pride and determination"
At a photo shoot earlier this week the Ladies were excited to see the great facilities at The John Keegan Stadium and many commented "that they felt like superstars" which I am sure they are and offer the club an additional attraction for new players and supporters.
Most of our local clubs already have a Ladies team and this introduction of a Ladies Team brings Marske United in line with them and the growing Women's game.
The Ladies previously played in the North Riding League and although it may not be possible to re-enter as Marske United Ladies this season they will be training weekly and playing friendly matches with match dates posted on our media platforms, so come along and see them in action.
Alongside the Ladies team a Junior Girls and a Junior Boys team have also moved with them to Marske United and have bolstered our juniors as additional teams to our current Junior Section.
The enthusiasm already shown by all three teams has been amazing and I can't wait to see them playing in Marske United colours.
A big welcome from all at Marske United.
