Regarding First Team Management

Marske United can confirm that following the completion of our 2024/25 EBAC Northern League Division One season, First Team Managers Simon Kasonali and Craig Skelton have parted company with the club by mutual consent.

Announcing the decision to fans, players and volunteers at the end of season presentation evening on Saturday in the clubhouse, the pair received a round of applause of appreciation for their efforts from those present in the packed room.

The club would like to thank Kas & Skelly for rebuilding our first team from scratch and for guiding us to a safe mid table finish. The pair deserve credit for being competitive right away in a difficult division, and for forming a strong bond with supporters.

To take the backbone of their Redcar Newmarket North Riding title winning team and then to successfully jump twos leagues progressing with those players, supported by additions to the core squad throughout the season is a testament to their drive and determination.

We would like to wish the pair and their coaching team all the best for the future. They will always be icons at the John Keegan Stadium and we look forward to seeing them again very soon.

With a changing of the guard, it is natural for uncertainty to arise, especially post season where squad turnover is part and parcel of non league football.

So we would just like to take this opportunity to thank and show our appreciation to every player who has represented the Seasiders throughout this season and we look forward to seeing some of those familiar faces donning yellow and blue next season while also wishing well to those who may embark on pastures new over the coming weeks.

This summer presents an opportunity for the club to further reflect on what went well this season, highlight areas where we can still improve, and then implement what is required to take us to the next level, on and off the pitch.

And from this, we can chart a new course, together, and thus the process to identify a suitable successor is already underway to lead us forward into the future and build upon the work that Kas & Skelly have achieved this season, as well as those who came before them in the past.

With that in mind, a further update regarding first team management will be issued in due course and we would like to thank fans and volunteers for their patience and support.
