Marske United sign striker Jake Day

Marske United sign striker Jake Day

Conner Kacperski17 Feb 2023 - 19:58

We are delighted to announce the signing of striker Jake Day who has transferred from Whitby Town.

The 31-year-old experienced striker has signed an 18-month deal at Marske United.

Welcome to the club Jake!

The forward who has also had stints at Alfreton, Guisley, Scarborough Athletic has previously worked with Marske United Manager Curtis Woodhouse at Bridlington Town and Tadcaster where they formed a formidable and successful partnership.

Speaking about his new signing Woodhouse said: “I worked with Jake before at Tadcaster and Bridlington Town. He probably scored over a hundred goals for me in that period.

“He has a big physical presence up there to take some of the work load off Adam Boyes.

“I think when you look at when Boyes has been playing at his best he's been playing off a big man and he's just not had that this season, so we needed to try and help him.

“So bringing Jake Day in will be a massive help to Adam. He will go straight into the squad for Saturday which really strengthens us and we have our eye in the market for another one as well."

Speaking on his decision to sign for Marske United, Day said: "I’m looking forward to getting going and to working with Curtis again.

“Hopefully I can help get the club out of the relegation zone and start climbing that table.

“I hope to see all the fans there tomorrow and we need you all to get behind us. There’s a long way to go in the season and your support will be massive!"
