“All Marske United Together”
Statement Issued by the Club :-
Following our away match at Runcorn Linnets on Saturday 14th March the world changed , and I think that we all understand that living with this virus will mean continued uncertainty and changes to how we live our lives in the foreseeable future which seems to have been christened the “new normal”.
The impact of that “game changing” date on Marske United FC was an end to the playing of matches and an immediate cessation of all revenue streams.
Home game revenue is our main source of income and with six NPL home games, plus a home North Riding Senior Cup Semi-Final v Scarborough Athletic being lost to the pandemic , our club finances became critical.
The club of course still had to meet and continues to meet its financial obligations :-
Utilities – Gas / Electricity / Water - Usage & Standing Charges and maintenance
Floodlights – ( January to March ) this is a separate account to the Utilities electricity
Ground Lease - payments to Saltburn , Marske & New Marske Parish Council
Cleveland Land Services – grass cutting and vert-draining for January to March and on-going grass cutting to maintain the pitch condition in the current down time.
Travel Partners Skelton Coaches - Payment for January to March travel
Clubhouse Bar Stock - deliveries made for the last 2 weeks of March home games v Scarborough/Trafford/Pickering ( none of which took place )
FA Cup entry fees for Season 2020-21
To ameliorate this situation the club launched the “All Marske United Together” project and the response and support for this initiative has been nothing short of amazing.
I’m sure you have all been following the weekly progress of this project and the club would like to say THANK YOU for your generosity.
I know that Bob Ryan has some more ideas up his sleeve to help keep you entertained during lockdown , so please keep on visiting our social media platforms.
With the coronavirus pandemic continuing to challenge all of us in our everyday lives we want our supporters to know that with your help we will do everything we can to make sure that this Football Club is there in readiness for our community on the other side of this pandemic and as evidenced by recent announcements , our Chairman and Manager are working very hard to build a playing squad which will both entertain and have an even stronger impact on the NPL than last season.
Take care , stay safe and look after those nearest and dearest to you.
