Last Time We Met...
The previous meeting between the two sides was on the opening day of the season and a whole 210 days since Marske's last competitive fixture.
Marske started the game quickly with Charlie Graham almost opening the scoring within the opening minute with his cross/shot effort.
It wouldn't be much longer before Marske took the lead with McCrorie Carmichael converting from the spot. However, the lead was quite quickly cut short when Dan Lanning equalised for the hosts only 6 minutes later.
The hosts started to have the better of proceedings since the equaliser but it wasn't to be as Carmichael got both his and Marske's second of the afternoon just after the half-hour mark.
Carrying a 2-1 lead into the second half, the lads put in a resolute defensive display in order to return to the coast with all 3 points.
Form
The visitors come into this weekend's game with 3 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat in their last 5 outings including a 2-1 victory in their most recent game against North Shields.
Marske, however, is in less-than-ideal form, with 3 defeats in their last 5, a single draw, and the 2-1 victory over Northallerton Town last time out.
Team News
Charlie Graham is unavailable for this weekend's fixture and James Sayer faces a race to be ready following a knee injury otherwise the Seasiders go into the game with no selection issues.
Manager's View
Skelly's thoughts on the upcoming game:
"Blue Star are a very good side, a great setup and a great management team. We beat them up at Scotswood on the opening day of the season, but boy did we have to work for it!
You can see their quality and this is reflected in where they are in the table. It's going to be a tough game but we are up for the challenge!"
